David Friedman is a professional photographer based in New York. For several years he was the staff photographer for Ralph Lauren. We talked about his visit to a denim distressing factory in Kentucky where they take new jeans, wash, bleach, tear and shred them. We also spoke about his own photography, a story about a very messy man, and his blog Ironic Sans.

Wow, I cringe hearing my own voice (and I realized I sure can ramble). I just feel the need to add that I in no way speak officially for either Polo or Sights Denim, and answered the best I could based on my recollections which may have been altered with the passing of time, so I hope I haven’t gotten any details wrong about either company. Thanks for the interview. It was fun!
