College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology was founded in 1958, and it has more than 116 faculty members . The college has one Distinguished Expert of National Thousand Talents Program (part-time), one National Distinguished Teacher, three State-Council Allowance Obtained Experts. There are more than 1000 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students in the college. 
Our College offers two undergraduate programs in Biological Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineeringone, one first-level disciplines of light industry technology and engineering Ph.D. programs and post-doctoral mobile stations, including three doctor degree programs of Fermentation Engineering, Glycoengineering, Fermented Food and Health; three first-level discipline Master's degrees of Biotechnology, Light Industry Technology and Engineering, Pharmacology, including eight academic full-time academic Master degree programmes of Fermentation Engineering, Glycoengineering, Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy (Medicine), Pharmacy/Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy (Science), Medicinal chemistry (Science), Medicinal chemistry (Medicine) , Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis and three three Full-time Engineering Master degree Licensing points of Light Industry Technology and Engineering, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Engineering.
There are several key laboratories at national and provincial levels in the college including State Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety, International Science and Technology Cooperation Base of Food Nutrition & Safety and Medicinal Chemistry, Key Laboratory of Industrial Fermentation Microbiology (Ministry of Education), National and Local United Engineering Lab of Metabolic Control Fermentation Technology, Tianjin Engineering Research Center of Microbial Metabolism and Fermentation Process Control. Besides, Tianjin Fermentation Engineering & Technology Testing Center and Alcoholic Testing Center and Amino Acid Testing Center are also located in the college.
Relying on the key national disciplines of fermentation engineering, the college has 6 scientific research directions: Bioreaction Engineering, modern brewing technology, enzyme and biological catalysis engineering, metabolic engineering, biological Pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical chemistry. After years of refinement and integration, 12 scientific research teams have been formed. Recent 5 years, We got 13 National and Provincial Research Awards and 18 social contribution awards. The research fund has reached 112.43 million yuan.
