Professors


Ming Li: PhD, Professor, Supervisor of Postgraduate. He has been working at Key Laboratory of Industrial Fermentation Microbiology, Ministry of Education, College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology since 2003. He worked in CBIS at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2014-2015 as a visiting scholar. He graduated from the Academy of Military Medical Sciences and got my Master’s degree in molecular biology in 2003, and from Nankai University and obtained my PhD. in microbiology in 2012. His research fields involve in construction of cell factory for production of both commodity and specialty chemicals at low cost from waste and renewable sources through genetic modification of E. coli, Corynebacterium glutamicum, Bacillus sp. and Asperillus niger using genome editing, synthetic biology and metabolic engineering technology.  His main research directions focus on (1) Metabolic engineering of microorganisms for production of chemicals of significant economic and societal value (2) Gene expression and regulation for enzymes production. He teaches Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, and so on. He has over 40 publications and 15 patents. The research projects prof. Li hosted included National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Technology Research and Development Program of Tianjin and Tianjin Research Program of Application Foundation and Advanced Technology.
