Prof. Dr. Qiao Changsheng has focused on the research and education in microbial fermentation for many years, specialized in development, control and optimization of novel biological reaction process, with outstanding outcomes in the research on biological macromolecule material (poly glutamic acid, poly lysine, poly malic acid, pullulan polysaccharides, etc.), fermented foods and functional factor (carotene, coenzyme Q10, functional peptides, etc.) as well as degradation of organic waste disposal, based on systematic biology theory. 

By construction and selection of highly efficient production strains, optimization and control of biological reaction processes, Prof. Dr. Qiao has established novel high-efficiency biological reaction processes with combination of biological and chemical unit operations. In recent years, Prof. Dr. Qiao has conducted and participated more than ten national or provincial research projects, published over 80 research papers( including 4 in SCI  and 7 in EI). He applied for more than 180 Chinese Invention Patents with 54 authorized items., Prof. Dr. Qiao won Third Prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award and Second Prize of Tianjin Technological Inventions Award in 2008.

As the main instructor of National Quality Lecture of Biological Reaction Engineering and leader of National Education Team of Biological Reaction Engineering, Prof. Dr. Qiao has brilliant contributions in education with more than 10 National or Provincial Educational Reform projects and 4 academic reform papers.
